No two photoshoots are the same and no two locations are either. Choosing the right location is just like choosing the right outfit for a photoshoot. Both set the atmosphere for the session and help bring the emotions of the photos to life. I am always down for trying a new location but for those who don't have any in mind, below are some of my favorite locations that fit well with my editing style!

Caledonia State Park - FAYETTEVILLE, PA
State parks are always full of untouched nature and our local state park is no exception! This location is in Fayetteville, PA right off of Lincoln Way East and provides a beautiful forest background with a large open field (making it a great spot for any session from couples to large extended family sessions). One added bonus is that the creek runs right through the park with many areas that are normally low making entrance into the creek easy.
Long Pine Reservoir - FAYETTEVILLE, PA
The Long Pine Reservoir is a part of the Caledonia State Park but is disconnected from the main park entrance. A short drive about 10 minutes up the road will get you to the reservoir. Most vehicles can navigate the stone/dirt road, but it is important to be prepared to keep an eye out for holes/ruts in the road. The water at the reservoir is beautiful and provides as a beautiful backdrop. In winter months the water recedes, allowing better access to the water on foot. There is also a beautiful tree covered entrance and wooded areas with rows of trees.
Sachs Covered Bridge - GETTYSBURG, PA
The Sachs Covered Bridge in Gettysburg is stunning and versatile. Although you cannot drive into the bridge it provides a perfect space for photos when on foot. There is also creek access and a large open field fitting, which again is great for anything from couples to extended family sessions.
Devils den - GETTYSBURG, PA
Devils Den is hands down one of my favorite locations for a photoshoot. With beautiful earthy tones, sprawling rocky landscapes, and accessible walking paths this location is never a disappointment. This location can be busy depending on the time of year due to it's historic background but with some patience and flexibility this can be easy to work around.
Falling spring rd - CHAMBERSBURG, PA
This spot is not one that you would naturally think of! There is no exact address as it is along the road (I know doesn't sound appealing, but trust me!) but it is at the intersection of Falling Spring, Rd and Springview Dr in Chambersburg. The tall grass and cotton makes for a beautiful backdrop in the fall. However, at any time of the year you can get good views of the creek and the open field.
Greencastle school farm - GREENCASTLE, PA
The Sachs Covered Bridge in Gettysburg is stunning and versatile. Although you cannot drive into the bridge it provides a perfect space for photos when on foot. There is also creek access and a large open field fitting, which again is great for anything from couples to extended family sessions.

Cloud Studio - Hagerstown, MD

Sometimes the weather is not ideal or maybe you think an indoor vibe best fits what you are looking for. Cloud Studio in Hagerstown is one of my favorites. I have worked with them a couple of times now and their space is so easy to rent! I should note that until they get a functioning elevator it does require going up a couple flights of stairs but the views are worth it!
